Tsuga canadensis 'Moonfrost'

This 'Moonfrost' variety is a favorite tree for shade or part sun. It often mimics a small tree with its small trunk underneath the airy foliage.

This variety is fun - it changes color throughout the year:

Late winter/early spring, the whitish-green needles will get a pink blush on them. See middle photos.
Springtime, the new growth is a creamy white at the tips of the branches (A very cool treat for the eye at the end of a long winter.)
Summer, it turns back to a light gray-green color.
Winter, shear it back before the new growth begins so you can appreciate the creamy tips in the springtime.
