Monterey Cypress ~ Cupressus macrocarpa 'Wilma Goldcrest'.
** Latest batch of plants are cute as a button and about 8" tall! (03.10.12)
The Monterey Cypress has a wonderful color, and it's a great conifer for indoors - or temperate climates down south too. It is a little faster growing at about 3" per year but it can be pruned to keep it small.
- Indoors: likes bright indirect light and keep the soil evenly damp
- Outdoor: Can be hardened off to Zone 7 (0F) and good through Zone 11 (above 40F).
- Outdoor: Heat Zones 12 - 7
- In colder climates, can be hardened off to Zone 5 apparently or treat as an annual.
- Outdoor: Part sun
- Growth rate dependent on placement, 3" to 6" per year
- Prune in late winter so the new growth hides the cut marks
- Comes in 4" pot.
The Monterey Cypress in stock have been kept indoors. Plants are about 10" tall.
